Social media threats continue circulating in our area and around the Eastern Shore. These threats have been analyzed by law enforcement and our school safety partners and deemed to be non-credible. The Maryland Center for School Safety released information late last night about a nationwide social media threat that has been circulating throughout communities. SCPS wants to make all of our families aware that this threat has been deemed non-credible by local law enforcement, and schools will continue normal operations today. As always, student and staff safety is our highest priority and we appreciate the outreach from our community on this issue.

Please note the time and format change of this Special Board Meeting: The Somerset County Board of Education will hold a special board meeting on September 10, 2024 at 5:30 PM. The meeting will begin with a motion to convene in Closed Session from 5:30 - 6:30 PM to discuss confidential matters.
