🌟 Somerset Intermediate is on the rise! 🌟
The 2025 Maryland School Report Card results are in, and Somerset Intermediate earned 2 out of 5 stars — a one-star increase over last year! The school’s overall score grew by 7.8%, jumping from 26.4% in 2023–24 to 34.2% in 2024–25.
Academic performance continues to trend upward, with a 0.9-point increase in Academic Achievement driven by gains in Mathematics (+4.5%) and ELA (+6.5%) proficiency across all student demographic groups. Somerset Intermediate also saw a 4-point increase in Academic Growth, highlighted by a 15.5% rise in Mathematics and 9% rise in ELA.
The school’s School Quality and Student Success indicators improved by 2.1 points, reflecting an 8.4% improvement in students not chronically absent. Overall, Somerset Intermediate achieved a 4-point increase across Academic Measures (Achievement, Growth, and English Language Proficiency), which is an exciting reflection of the hard work and dedication of students, staff, and families.
Looking ahead, SIS will continue to focus on high-quality instruction and academic growth data to continue the upward trend in student proficiency.
