WESTOVER, MD (August 23, 2024) – Somerset County Public Schools’ (SCPS) new Superintendent, Dr. Ava Tasker-Mitchell, recently unveiled plans to host a series of community forums to engage with the SCPS community, collect data and analyze trends for the development of the school system’s Strategic Plan. Tasker-Mitchell began her term as Superintendent of Schools on July 1, 2024.
Tasker-Mitchell shared, “I am eager to engage with and learn from the Somerset County Public Schools community in the upcoming Listening & Learning to Lead tour. Creating strategic opportunities to listen and learn from students, staff, parents and the greater community is an immediate priority within my first 100 days as Superintendent of Schools. What is learned in the process will serve as a guide in the development of the System’s Strategic Plan, and the starting point for establishing stakeholder trust and confidence.”
