I became a member of the SIS teaching team Spring 2006 as a Special Education full inclusion co-teacher. I am now one of the Comprehensive Special Education teachers. Previously I've co-taught in the Language Art and Math departments. Currently I am responsible for lessons in all content areas as well as Life Skills. It was my honor to represent SIS as the 2015 Teacher of the Year.
I'm a graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore with a BA in Special Education and also certified in ELL. Presently I'm working to obtain my Master's in TESOL at Salisbury University.
Teaching the 'whole' child is my true passion, as a mother of four I know how challenging life can be for our students as they navigate through school and life. It is my goal to help them mature and grow both academically and socially all while building a strong, secure sense of self in an effort to help reach their full potential.
